ROCKY MOUNT — Beginning on Oct. 20, Rocky Mount Urology Associates will become affiliated with the UNC Physicians Network and Nash UNC Health Care.

“As we continue to see changes in patient needs and the overall health care landscape, it is vital that we work together with local practices like Rocky Mount Urology to ensure patients have access to specialized care in their own community,” said Dr. L. Lee Isley, president and CEO of Nash UNC Health Care.

Rocky Mount Urology Associates serves a sizeable patient population. The practice name, location and contact information will remain the same, as will the care team.

“This new partnership will allow us to work together to help expand the practice to ensure we continue to provide high-quality urological care to this growing patient population in our region,” said Isley.

Nash UNC Health Care and the UNC Physicians Network have been working with Rocky Mount Urology to recruit new physicians to expand patient access.

“Dr. Gordon Mathes, Dr. Matthew Paszek and Dr. A.C. Afiadata, who recently joined Rocky Mount Urology, are currently seeing patients in our community. We are working to recruit another urology provider to join the practice to accommodate the growing need for urological care in our community,” said Isley. “We are excited to work with UNCPN and Rocky Mount Urology to continue to provide the superior quality care our community deserves.”

The UNC Physicians Network manages more than 90 practices with more than 300 doctors and advanced practice providers who deliver primary care and specialty services to 14 counties in North Carolina.

In the region, UNCPN manages UNC Orthopedics at Nash, UNC Ear, Nose & Throat at Nash, UNC Neurosurgery at Nash, Nash Surgery, UNC Internal Medicine and Pediatrics at Middlesex and Eastern North Carolina Medical Group.
