Weathercast: Warm spell brings highs in the 70s and cloudy skies

The calendar says January, but the weather systems affecting The Wilson Times area think spring has arrived.

High temperatures from Saturday through Wednesday are likely to be at or above 65 degrees, with 70s due Saturday and Sunday. Overnight lows will likely stay above 50 degrees, the average high temperature.

There is a price to pay, though. Skies will be mostly cloudy, and periods of showers, mainly Saturday night and during the daytime Monday and Tuesday, will keep the ground soggy.

Although more seasonable temperatures are expected to return by Friday, there is still no snow in the forecast.
