The jet stream is continuing to be a friend to The Wilson Times area.

Arching up and over the eastern half of the United States, the jet stream is keeping eastern North Carolina mild and frozen-weather free.

High temperatures Saturday are forecast to reach the mid-60s under partly sunny skies. A thickening cloud cover will hold temperatures down just a bit Sunday to around 60. After a warm front pulls north late Sunday, the way will be cleared for a 70-degree high Monday.

A cold front's passage Monday evening will allow for more seasonable temperatures. New Year's Eve day should see a high in the mid-50s followed by an overnight low in the mid-30s. The high Wednesday is forecast to hold in the low- to mid-50s.
