Authorities are seeking the public's help to locate a 90-year-old Johnston County man.

The N.C. Center for Missing Persons issued a Silver Alert for Hans Liem "Fritz" Oey at 3:18 a.m. Tuesday. Oey was last seen at a home on the 200 block of Helena Lane northeast of Clayton near the town of Archer Lodge.

Oey stands 5 feet, 10 inches tall and weighs about 155 pounds. He has short white hair and brown eyes and was last seen wearing a gray checkered shirt.

Investigators believe Oey may be driving a 2010 Kia Sportage SUV with North Carolina license plate PJZ-2423.

"Possible destination unknown, but he might be heading to the upstate New York area," the Silver Alert advisory reads.

Silver Alerts are issued for people of any age who are believed to be suffering from dementia or another cognitive impairment. Subjects of the emergency alerts are considered to be missing and endangered.

Anyone who sees Hans Liem Oey or has information on his whereabouts is asked to contact R. Ackley at the Johnston County Sheriff's Office by calling 919-989-5000.
