NASHVILLE — The Nash-Rocky Mount Board of Education has approved Joyce Jarrett as the new chief financial officer. She is a product of Hertford County Public Schools and a native of Murfreesboro.
Jarrett has more than 38 years of experience in the finance field in various roles. Most recently, she served as the manager of business affairs at the Center for Great Public Schools at the National Education Association in Washington. Prior to working for the NEA, she was the assistant finance director in finance and administration for George Washington University School of Business in Washington.
For the majority of her career, she worked as the associate executive director for fiscal affairs and operation and as the manager of business affairs for the North Carolina Association of Educators in Raleigh. At Aetna Life and Casualty, she served as a manger, supervisor and senior analyst in Hartford, Connecticut.
Jarrett holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Saint Augustine’s University in Raleigh,. She received her master’s in business administration from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, in Troy, New York.
Jarrett said she’s excited about working for Nash-Rocky Mount Public Schools and continuing her work as an advocate for students and public education.
