RALEIGH — Samantha Cooper Bulluck of Rocky Mount won a $342,754 jackpot in the North Carolina Education Lottery’s Carolina Cash 5 game.
The lucky ticket for the Feb. 15 drawing was purchased at the EP Mart located on Glenview Road in Enfield. She claimed her winnings at lottery headquarters in Raleigh. After required state and federal tax withholdings, she took home $242,499.
Cash 5 is a statewide draw game that gives players the chance to win a jackpot every single night. The odds of winning a Cash 5 jackpot are one in 962,598. Tickets cost $1 and players can buy tickets at most lottery retailers or through Online Play on the lottery’s website.
Ticket sales from draw games like Cash 5 make it possible for the lottery to raise more than $700 million a year for education, according to the N.C. Education Lottery.
