MIDDLESEX — A Wendell man suffered severe injuries when he crashed his pickup truck Saturday night near Middlesex.
Witnesses in Middlesex said Daniel Mujica Granados, 25, was traveling at a high rate of speed on South Nash Street before turning onto East Pamlico Street inside the town limits.
Granados then lost control of his red Ford F-150 pickup in a curve on Claude Lewis Road between Stokes Road and Beaver Dam Road. The truck came to rest against a tree on the driver side door.
Granados was pinned in the driver seat when members of the Middlesex Volunteer Fire Department arrived and extricated him from the truck.
Nash County Emergency Services medics took Granados to the trauma unit at Wake Medical Center in Raleigh.
State troopers are investigating the wreck.
