Forest to headline Nash GOP convention

The Nash County Republican Party will hold its annual convention at 5 p.m. Monday featuring Lt. Gov. Dan Forest as the keynote speaker.

Forest is serving his second term as lieutenant governor and has formed an exploratory committee to run for governor in 2020.

Officers and at-large members to the county party’s Executive Committee will be elected during the convention to serve two-year terms.

The recipient of the Dr. Faye Eagles Award recognizing the party’s volunteer of the year also will be announced at the event.

Registration begins at 5 p.m. and the convention starts at 6. Gardner’s BBQ will cater the event.
