SPRING HOPE — The Spring Hope Area Chamber of Commerce announced Monday that Ephesus Baptist Church has organized a park-and-ride service for this year’s Spring Hope National Pumpkin Festival.
Those wishing to utilize the service will park at Ephesus Baptist Church at the intersection of N.C. 581 and Old Spring Hope Road. The shuttle will drop riders off at the corner of Pine Street and Branch Street in front of the former R.O. Mullen and Co. store and will pick festival-goers up for transport back to the church from that same location.
The shuttle will run from 5-10 p.m. Friday. On Saturday, it will operate from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. with a one-hour suspension of service during the festival parade from 1-2 p.m.
The chamber also announced that the parking lot behind the former PNC Bank, also at the intersection of Pine and Branch, will serve as handicapped parking this year.
The festival kicks into high gear Friday night with the popular annual street dance. The Wilder Corner Band will perform on the Depot Deck from 5-7 p.m. and The Embers with Craig Woolard will perform on the main stage in the center of Main Street beginning at 7 p.m.
