Community Calendar: Rep. Gailliard to host town hall

ROCKY MOUNT — State Rep. James Gailliard, D-Nash, will hold a town hall meeting from 6-7 p.m. Friday, June 14 at Mo’s Restaurant and Grill, 123 S. Church St.

Gailliard said he’s organized the meeting to hear from constituents about issues that are important to them, provide updates on action the General Assembly has taken and rally support for progressive legislation.

“Rep. Gailliard is committed to having one-on-one conversations with his constituents early and often, as he works to best represent the community and energize voters for the future,” a news release states.

SPRING HOPE — Edwards, Inc., 4119 Sheep Pasture Road, will host the Spring Hope Area Chamber of Commerce Business After Hours at 6 p.m. Monday, June 17. Chamber members and anyone interested in joining the chamber is invited to attend.

Church to hold hot dog giveaway

ROCKY MOUNT — Emanuel Chapel Original Free Will Baptist Church, 635 Henry St., will distribute free hot dogs from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, June 15 as a part of its community outreach ministry.

Church plans vacation Bible school

BAILEY — Bailey Baptist Church, 6646 Deans St., will hold vacation Bible school from Sunday, June 23 through Thursday, June 27. Registration is planned for 4 p.m. June 23 followed by dinner at 5 p.m., then vacation Bible school classes. Dinner will be served each day at 5 p.m.
