AJ Jones is a member of the Firebirds basketball team and the Thomas Law Attorneys Student-Athlete of the Week.

Despite the Firebirds’ 56-67 loss last week to Northern Nash, AJ hustled hard during the game with three steals and two rebounds.

The son of Stacie and Andy Jones of Nashville, AJ has a 4.25 GPA and is taking honors classes and Advanced Placement U.S. history.

AJ is junior class president and also is a member of the Beta Club and Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Outside of school, he is an active member of his youth group at Holly Grove Baptist Church in Spring Hope and works during the summer on his family’s tomato farm. AJ also plays baseball, representing Southern Nash in the N.C. Powerade Games last summer and playing for the Tri-State Arsenal Scout travel team.

Once he graduates, AJ plans to attend a four-year university to study history. His goal is to come back to Southern Nash to teach history and be a baseball coach.
