Police and sheriff’s deputies made three arrests and seized cocaine, marijuana and a handgun during a March 19 driver’s license checkpoint on N.C. 581 South in Spring Hope. In addition to the arrests, authorities also issued citations for traffic offenses, according to the Spring Hope Police Department. “As always, interagency cooperation with proactive enforcement goes a long way toward taking illegal narcotics and weapons off the streets,” Spring Hope police said in a news release posted to the department’s Facebook page. The department said police and Nash County deputies made the following arrests:

• Joshua Villalobos, 19, of Middlesex, was charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine, maintaining a vehicle for a controlled substance and possession of marijuana paraphernalia. • Amber Dobbin, 19, of Raleigh, was charged with possession of marijuana and possession of marijuana paraphernalia. • George Perry, 22, of Wilson, was charged with carrying a concealed firearm, possession of marijuana and driving on a suspended license. An evidence photo shows a semi-automatic pistol with seven rounds of ammunition, three bags of marijuana in various sizes, a marijuana blunt and three grinders.
